New mulch options
for Mulch Madness!
We're adding two new options to our bulk mulch lineup this week, and all of our wood mulches are eligible for free local delivery through April 15th during Mulch Madness

1. Pine Bark Fines
Pine bark fines are used differently than other types of mulch. Here's a rundown of how to utilize them:
  • As a mulch. Pine bark fines are ground and partially composted, so they break down faster than other mulch. This makes them ideal for getting bedding annuals started - the mulch suppresses spring weeds, and breaks down to nourish the soil as the annuals grow over it.
  • As a soil amendment. Pine bark fines can be added to soil to add organic matter, improve drainage, aeration, and water retention.
  • As a soil acidifier. With a pH between 4.0 and 5.0, Pine bark fines can be used as a sustainable alternative to peat moss. They're fantastic mixed in to the soil around acid-loving plants. In fact, blueberries thrive when planted in pine bark fines and nothing else!

Pine bark fines are a sustainable choice, as they are a byproduct of the lumber industry. This means that they are not harvested from forests that are being cleared for other purposes. They're also a versatile and beneficial addition to any garden. We've got them available now in bulk at $225 a ton, so give them a try!
2. Kiddie Cushion
Kiddie Cushion mulch is IPEMA certified, designed for use on playgrounds. It's nontoxic and biodegradable, and it helps prevent injuries from falls by providing a soft, cushioned surface.

An Engineered Wood Fiber (EWF) product, Kiddie Cushion is made from a combination of virgin wood chips and 10-20% wood fines, which provides the ideal amount of compaction for a safe play surface.

If you have a playground area in need of an update, or you simply prefer a lighter shade of wood mulch, order Kiddie Cushion. It's available now at $195/ton!
