It's been hot and dry, so don't forget to water, water, water your plants! Rather than spraying for a short time every day, leave the water running gently over a loooooong period every few days, up to once a week, depending on how well established your plants are.
Water in the morning or evening, so that the water has a chance to soak into the soil while it's cool. If possible, water at the base of the plant rather than using a sprinkler, as less water will be lost to evaporation.
A deep wood mulch will go a long way toward conserving water and preventing weeds from competing with your plants for resources. If you have rock mulch, make sure that you have at least 12" clear of weed barrier and rocks all the way around the base of each plant. This will allow enough water to reach the roots, and permit water to evaporate from the soil during wet times, rather than trapping waterlogged soil around the plant underneath the weed barrier.
